Which Class To Teach
Q: How can I meet the
needs of children who can only come to class one time?
A: Consider offering Safe Sitter® Basic (6 1/2-hour class) for
children with busy schedules or limited transportation.
Q: All educational
programs in my organization must break even financially. How can I
continue to teach Safe Sitter®?
A: Safe Sitter® is designed to be a service to your community,
not a profit-making venture. It can be revenue-neutral with fees
paid by the students covering your costs. The only item each
student is required to have is a Student Manual which costs
$15.
You may want to consider the 6 1/2-hour class which almost cuts
the cost of your Instructors in half.
You may want to collaborate with another organization in your
community to control costs and expand your outreach. Perhaps you
could work with a church or youth organization to offer Safe
Sitter®. They might register the students and provide the adult
Instructors while you provide the facility, manikins, and rescue
skills Instructors.
Q: We have always
taught the 12 1/2-hour class. We are switching to the 6 1/2-hour
class. How should we announce the change?
A: Assure the parents that the 6 1/2-hour class is designed to
include all the essential information and is taught in a concise
format for people with busy schedules.
