In emergencies, Safe Sitter® graduates consistently react quickly, calmly, and appropriately. That’s how Mark, 12, reacted last July when waiting in line at an amusement park with his family when he realized that a nearby toddler wasn’t breathing.
Mark heard someone shout “He’s not breathing!” and then heard screaming. Mark reacted immediately and began administering rescue breathing on the one-year-old, a skill that he learned from the Safe Sitter® class he took only a month before.  Mark gave the toddler rescue breathes until EMS arrived. “I was nervous, but I remembered what to do.”
Mark’s mother was very impressed by the attributes Mark exhibited that Safe Sitter® taught him. “I was just so proud of him. It put him on the spot, especially at his age, but he was calm.”
