Talent Show/Play
You and the children can put on a
play or a talent show.
Use the children's stuffed animals as your audience.
|
|
|
Story Time
Make a game by asking the child/children you
are babysitting what are their favorite things such as colors, animals,
food, songs, etc. Then make up a story and include all their
favorite things in the story.
|
|
Roll a brightly colored ball
to a child while
sitting on the floor. Pick a room that is child - safe (one
where no items can be broken). Set a good example by rolling the
ball gently and always keeping the ball on the floor.
|
|
Puzzles
- cut up the front of a cereal
box in fun shapes. Keep in a zip lock bag.
|
|
Puppets
- make one
sock into a ball and put it inside the second sock. Tie a knot in
the sock below the balled up sock. Paint a face on the second sock
and let it dry a few minutes. You can slip the sock over your hand
to make a puppet.
|
|
Tape Player
-
record children's voices then have
the children hold a hairbrush or wooden spoon and pretend it is a
microphone as you replay their voices from the recording.
Encourage them to dance and have fun!
|
|
Household Items
- collect household
items, place in a brown paper bag, then play "where does this
go" (teaches memory plus housekeeping).
|
|
Dress Up
- ask parents if they have any old
clothes/shoes to play "dress up".
